Desu’s path to &FRIENDS started in the most unexpected way, during a casual session with his friend, EKO from Singapore. “Halfway through the session, EKO asked, ‘Would you like to perform at &FRIENDS?’ In that split second, I said YES! And the rest is history.”

That moment hasn’t quite sunk in for him yet, but what has set in is the mission: to put Malaysian bass on the map, loud and clear. And with a set that promises a full-blown genre ride, he’s showing up with heat

“The set’s gonna be a journey. If you love all kinds of bass music, you better get ready!”

Carrying The Flag And The Scene

For Desu, this moment is personal. “It’s very important for me. I’m honoured to represent Malaysia and its bass community, I’ve always dreamt of playing on the international stage since the age of 13, fun fact, that’s also when I discovered Hardwell.”

But this isn’t just about childhood dreams. Desu sees this as a responsibility, to bring more visibility to Malaysia’s bass scene, and to push local sounds to new heights. “With bass music considered a niche market here, I’ll gladly take up the challenge to push these genres in Malaysia and internationally.”

And yes, his set will be stacked with fresh Malaysian music. “There will be a whole lotta new music from me and other talents in Malaysia! Been cooking recently, I’m gonna tease it all at the show!” Desu shares.
