Hold on to your drinks guys, because the future of DJing has officially arrived, and he’s only 9 years old! Meet DJ Archie, the UK star who just became the youngest DJ to ever perform at the legendary Tomorrowland festival. Yes, you read that right – 9 years old and already making history on one of the biggest stages in EDM!

From Playtime to Prime Time

DJ Archie’s journey into the world of music started early – really early. At the age of four, he was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the youngest DJ in the world. Fast forward a few years, and he has already performed at Glastonbury and now, Tomorrowland. Archie’s debut at Tomorrowland saw him opening the Atmosphere stage, spinning classic drum & bass tracks like M-Beat and General Levy’s “Incredible” and Shy FX’s remix of “Chopper” by The Terrorist.

Archie’s set was more than spectacular. He amazed the crowd with his impeccable mixing skills and energy despite his young age. “When I controlled the crowd, they were all dancing,” Archie said in an interview with DJ Mag. It’s clear that this young DJ knows how to get the party started!

Behind the Beats

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Archie’s dad, John Norbury, also known as DJ Essex, introduced him to the world of DJing. One day, young Archie turned on his dad’s equipment and started mixing – perfectly in time. Since then, there’s been no looking back. His father couldn’t be prouder, saying, “He kind of watched me from when he was about two and a half years old. One day, he turned it all on, and he started mixing”.

The Young Talents of Tomorrowland

Archie was one of several young talents showcased at Tomorrowland this year as part of the festival’s “young talents” bill. This initiative, in partnership with the Tomorrowland Academy, also featured performances from other budding DJs aged 14 to 17. With Tomorrowland under his belt, the sky’s the limit for DJ Archie. His journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see where his talents take him next. From the sounds of it, the future of the nightlife scene is in very capable, small, hands.
